Folklore calls March - Full Worm Moon.
At the time of this spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins. This is also known as the Sap Moon, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins. (1)
Traditional Chinese Medicine informs us that this moon affects the bladder meridian, which has more points than any other meridian.
Yogic tradition and Ayurveda tells us that the kidneys and bladder relate to the second chakra and its elemental force water.
Learning to relate and understand the elemental forces of earth, water, fire, air and ether can help you to be more aware of your energy bodies, the chakras, the meridian system, as well as your body's own rhythms, and the cycles of the moon with its influence on your moods and feelings.
The second chakra is located in the sacral/pelvic area of the body and governs the following body parts: Ovaries, adrenal glands, spleen, uterus, urinary system, prostate gland, uterus, cervix and lower bowel.
To harness the power of this full moon you want to take the path of least resistance and go with the flow. Not resisting, but allowing and accepting.
Possible physical symptoms:
- Fear and frustration
- Aching ankles and knee caps
- Low back, neck or or head pain
- Nose bleed
- Leg cramps and sciatic flares
- Bladder infections
Drinking lots of water, adding black foods, melons and the fresh juice of spinach and carrot are recommended. Also cranberry juice and cucumbers will help to stay hydrated and supported.
Avoid salt, emotional frustration and coffee for they dry out your body.
Tips and Yoga:
- Hold and massage the little finger of each hand for 2 minutes each several times a day.
- Listen to calm music
- Wear black
- Contract the muscles when urinating to strengthen the bladder. If done daily this can prevent kidney stones.
- Alternate nostril breathing
Our Full Moon Community Healing Circle is this
Wednesday, March 23, 2016
7.00PM - 8.30PM at my home studio downtown Winston-Salem.
Come and share these monthly gatherings and participate in sacred circle for healing Self, family, friends, community and the world.
With this ever evolving Community Healing Circle, which I have offered since 2014 in Winston-Salem, I am pleased to offer you and our community a moment of respite, in which you can connect to your innate nature and ability to heal yourself and those you care about. And together we raise our vibrations, celebrate life and use this opportunity for sacred activism.
Circle time is both dynamic and structured. Change agent moon presents us each month with different energies and rhythms and this will effect the presiding currents of our monthly gatherings. We find structure and form from the ancient teachings of Kundalini Yoga, which activate healing and help us direct it towards Self and others.
The two main components of the Full Moon Community Healing Circles are:
Passive receiving - guided meditation and a healing sound bath while you relax.
Active creating - meditating and chanting a healing mantra which was used in the East for thousands of years. Once a secret practice and reserved only for Brahmans, now widely used, after being given to us by Guru Bhajan, spiritual teacher and master of Kundalini Yoga.
We will end our gathering with a cup of Yogi Tea.
Please email email@example.com for more information, location and to reserve your place.
No experience necessary.
Class cost $15
At each class we will collect and donate $5.00 form each participant to a local charity. You will be able to put a suggestion of your favorite charity in a bag from which we will draw once every three month and then deliver our collective love offering to the chosen recipient.
Love, Peace and Light
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
