One day last year, after a stroll and discovery walk through my new city neighborhood, I uploaded the photos I took. The picture above showed up and took my breath away. It took my breath away not because it is pretty, but because I did not take it and nobody else did either, for I was alone.
So, how did it get on my camera? I used my I-Phone and sometimes photos are 'accidentally' taken with them. What is strange about it, is that I don't remember seeing a body of water like this, although, I walked along side a creek. This photo turned out amazing for not being shot intentionally, wouldn't you say? And, it is a good example and symbol for what we will be exploring in the next eight weeks with the new class series I will offer.
This Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Yoga Gallery in Winston-Salem, N.C., we start a Kundalini Yoga series in which we will explore the Subtle Energy Body. You can still partially participate even if you don't live nearby, by following the articles and prompts that I will post each week.

The body, however, you can see, feel and touch. You feed it, clothe it - take care of it. Your subtle Energy Bodies are real and have important functions. And just like electricity, they exist and assist you with experiencing life more fully- more enlightened, if you will.
The subtle Energy Bodies are the organizing centers of your embodied life and govern your behavior, moods and consciousness. They are designed to receive, process, assimilate and transmit your experiences. They express and coordinate your complex mind/body/emotion and spiritual system. (2)
Are these important functions for your daily interactions and doings?
Yes, of course, and this is why you want to become more intimate with your subtle Energy Body.
With the technologies of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and with practices of The Healing Arts you can get in touch with, get to know,, and experience first hand the subtleties of energy, symbols, the mysterious, and the parallel dimensions operating, co-existing and co-creating with all life.
Concentrated moving energy centers that look like wheels or vortexes where coined ‘Chakras’ by ancient yogic sciences and are anatomically located along the spine, and connected with the main nerve plexuses. These house the various glands of the endocrine system, which serve as an information signal system much like the nervous system.
We know that the glands govern hormone production, which affect our emotions and general health.
We also know that the spine and brain house our consciousness and the cerebrospinal system, which create electrical energy and distributes this life force and physiological, functional messages.
Kundalini Yoga teaches you methods via exercises, breathing, meditating and chanting which assists you to cleanse, strengthen and acquaint you with your subtle energy system, as well as, your anatomy, physiology and your mental and emotional health. Practicing this ancient technology will give you control over your life and will have you experience a happy, healthy and holy time.
Much of the stress and emptiness that haunt us can be traced back to our lack of attention to beauty. Internally, the mind becomes coarse and dull if it remains unvisited by images and thoughts that hold the radiance of beauty.

I am off, with camera in pocket, to catch some beauty, stillness and sun rays.
May brilliance illuminate your heart.
